All transmissions suffer their greatest torque reactions changing from 1st to 2nd gears so these are the first to go. It's a toss-up whether to take it to a Peugeot dealer or to a member of www.fedauto.co.uk I'd favour the latter.
Peak torque on the turbo-petrol engine begins at an impressively low 1400rpm, then continues to 3500rpm, even after it starts to taper off there's still decent grunt on tap. The 207 GTI's power comes from a turbocharged variant of the 1.6-litre engine and peaks at 128kW. Better still is the impressive torque graph.
The legendary GTi is back - but it's not as raw as its forebears. With a fine turbocharged engine, excellent handling and one of the best electric power-steering set-ups around, the 207 has all
Solution: There are three possible reasons for this problem. It could be the engine control parameters, a defective gearbox, or an issue with the engine mounts. Start by doing a diagnostics check. If that reveals no issues, then you'll need to inspect the gearbox.
